The 27th Leeds Architecture Awards took place a week ago, and as the dust settles on yet another fantastic event, we can begin to reflect on a night that highlighted the most exciting and innovative architectural projects in our region, along with the deserved winners.
The event was hosted by Andrew Edwards of BBC Radio Leeds and included speeches from chartered architect Hiro Aso, and Councillor Judith Blake, leader of Leeds City Council.
We congratulate all of this year’s winners, which included Sunny Bank Mills, Edward Boyle Library and CQ The Court, but in particular, the winner of this year’s new award, ‘The Special Community Award’.
Our developers and operators Munroe K were proud sponsors of the event this year, with CEO David Aspin on hand to present the ‘Special Community Award’ to CATCH Leeds, a charity of passionate volunteers who run a community space and deliver a range of youth activities.
On presenting the esteemed award, David Aspin said: “It’s an absolute honour to present this to such a deserving project, and huge admiration to the volunteers who continue to run this crucial amenity.”
Since its inception in 1987, the awards have captivated the best that Leeds has to offer in the architectural development sector and hopefully will continue to do so for many years to come. We look forward to the next event!
